Voices that Shine!

Welcome to my class!

Welcome to my website!  My classes will provide a positivie learning environment for vocal techniques, music theory, sight-singing techniques and skill building to develop each student into a knowledgeable and informed vocal musician and choir member.  I believe that every person, no matter what their natural musical abilities may be, can learn and develop skills to sing satisfactorily.  The level at which this is achieved is up to the individual student.

Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, you learn notes to play to the music of your soul. - Katie Greenwood

I think music in itself is healing.  It's an explosive expression of humanity.  It's something we are all touched by.  No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music. - Billy Joel

Events and Announcements

High School Choir:
We'll be electing a president and vice president soon.  These two positions will work together in the following capacity: take daily attendence during warmups, help choose music for spring concert, help make a few decisions for the Florida trip, bring any ideas/concerns to Mrs. Radcliffe's attention for consideration.
National Anthem:  If anyone is interested in singing the national anthem for sporting events this year, please see me soon so we can get it scheduled and start practicing.
Musical:  Practice every Mon, Tues and Wed from 7-9 pm.  Please have Act I memorized by Tues, Sept 25th.  So far things are going great!
High School Show Choir:  This will be starting in a month or so!  If you're interested in participating, please let me know.  I have a great show planned for us this year!

Junior High Choir:
We elected new officers for choir this year, they are: Morgan Hawkins - President and Jawny Thompson - Vice President.  CONGRATULATIONS to both of these ladies!
We are thinking about starting a Junior High Show Choir if there is enough interest!  Let me know what you think.  I would love to get this going soon!

Elementary Choir:
Wow!  What a great (and many) bunch of students!  So far they're favorite is the 2 part version of "Down By the Bay".  I'm sure we shake the rafters when we sing this one!  Our goal right now is learning how to sing two-part music.  So far so good - Keep up the good work!

5th & 6th General Music:
We've recently learned about the importance of singing the "Star-Spangled Banner".  We've discussed the history of the song, some history of the United States and what mannerisms to abide by when the song is played.
